Flying

A Piper Cherokee similar to the one I piloted.

The intrepid pilot! In February 1997, Myself and a few friends flew to Amsterdam in the Netherlands for a weekend of fun :-) For me it was even more of an experience as I had never flown before! I enjoyed flying almost as much as the holiday, and decided that I would have to go back to Amsterdam , just for the pleasure of flying again. I never actually got around to going back to Amsterdam, but in June 1997 I visited the Leyland festival in Lancashire, England, with Carl Whalley, and had a short flight in a helicopter, which was amazing! Within a week I had booked a flying lesson in a fixed wing aircraft as helicopter lessons are a little bit more expensive, and on Sunday 15th June 1997 I took off from Blackpool airport in a Piper Cherokee PA28 G-BASL for a 1 hour flight over Morecambe , Fleetwood , and Lancaster.

So remember, next time you see a plane that looks like the one at the top of this page, wave frantically at it! It might be me!
